Welcome!
My interest in photography started as a teenager when I purchased a 35mm camera with my first paycheck from my first summer job. I immediately began exploring the forest, rivers and mountains around my boyhood home in Western Pennsylvania. I was able to publish my first photographs in local magazines and newspapers while still attending high school. Through college, I continued to explore my surroundings- camera in hand. While attending University of Alaska, I was lucky enough to meet photographer Charles Mason. Through his mentoring, my passion for photography continued to evolve. After pursuing an education in wildlife biology, life took me in the direction of guiding nature and photography tours. Working as a photographer and naturalist for Joseph Van Os Photo Safaris has allowed me to combine my two passions of photography and nature. The work presented in these galleries is an attempt to share with friends and fellow enthusiasts the photographic experiences I have had along my travels.
Please enjoy,
Eric
